Berkshire Opera Company Performances at the Koussevitzky Arts Center

The mission of the BOC is to help bring world class professional opera to the Berkshires and especially to people who have never been exposed to it before. Recently, corporate sponsors helped bring the BOC to a number of area schools to expose kids to this exciting music. Founder Rex Hearn singlemindedly created this organization, trying duplicate the summer festivals of his native Great Britain. In recent years, Emmy and Peabody-Award winner Sanford Fisher brought in opera performers from all over the world and created some of the most innovative productions in the BOC's history, as well as making the modern, comfortable Koussevitzky Performing Arts Center the company's summer home, offering gretaer access to the world of the opera. In coming seasons, there will be original works commissioned specifically for this company.
